Function Coffee is one of our favorite cafes in the city, so much so that we remembered it from 5 years ago. When we came back it still lived up to expectations. Absolutely worth the visit! I've been wanting to try this place for some time, even though I don't live nearby. My cortado and savory Danish were definitely worth the journey. The espresso was incredibly smooth with a touch of sweetness, and the sourdough added a unique twist to the spinach and artichoke Danish. I will definitely be returning to try the croissants and barista specials. I regret not sampling the French Toast latte this time, but I always stick to a cortado as my go-to when checking out coffee shops.
This place freaking rocks!! Great drip coffee, but it’s all about the pastries !! This morning I had the beet and goat cheese danish. Great sourdough flavor in the pastry itself and the filling was delish. I’ve also tried the butternut squash danish and the rye chocolate chip cookie. Both were excellent. Also they’re always really nice in there! I am a substitute teacher and work at a lot of schools around Philly, and sometimes I’ll take jobs in the area just so I can go to function on my break!!!
The staff here is incredibly friendly, and they are very welcoming to dogs, allowing them to sit with you inside. The cinnamon rolls are absolutely the best I’ve ever tasted. If you take some home and microwave them for about 20 seconds, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed! While the coffee isn’t my favorite in the area, the americano is quite good. Overall, the friendly staff and amazing cinnamon rolls make this place definitely worth a visit. Réservez une table maintenant
This place was great! Fantastic coffee and good bakery goods! The sour dough cinnamon roll excellent it's a must try! Our whole group ordered seasonal coffees and everyone of them was great. The storefront is super cute although a little small. It can get crowded at peak times when everyone is waiting for their coffee to be made. Highly recommend checking out this little shop--the community seems to love it just as much as I did!
What a delightful little coffee shop! The menu features a fantastic variety of options, and the sourdough cinnamon bun had the most delicious frosting. There are a handful of seats available both indoors and outdoors. My boyfriend also loved the oat bar. Although the cinnamon buns aren't heated, they were still tasty even when served cold.
However, I do have some feedback: the shop appears a bit cluttered, and the glassware was stained. While they were clean, a little bit of Cafiza would go a long way. I also noticed some old machines and boxes were left out in the area where the coffee beans are displayed, which detracted from the overall appearance.
What an amazing place. Truly friendly baristas, amazing and creative coffee drinks, and tasty pastries combine for a great experience. When I've gone, the staff has been very helpful and quick with recommendations. I'd recommend the croissant, especially if you like sourdough. Réservez une table maintenant
