This was the worst restaurant meal I've ever experienced. My dish was so excessively salty that I couldn't eat it, and that's saying something considering my high tolerance for salt! The staff didn't make any effort to fix the problem. My dining companion received a watery shrimp dish, which required her to get her fingers all sticky to peel off the shells. We had been really looking forward to this meal based on recommendations from friends. Although the restaurant has received a lot of buzz and has been active in the community, I won't be returning.
Yum, yum, yum! My cousin put me on to this place when I was in town. I mean the pizza is to die for then Caprese sandwich is THE BEST! They are huge 14' long but one fresh amazing ingredients it's a must try! I also left with delicious hi made pasta sauces and truffle butter and Wild Boar Ragu. This will be a forever stop on my way home out of River Forest. Don't walk, run to go try. The service was so amazing they're all super sweet and will explain anything to you which is helpfulness .
Unfortunately, both the restaurant and the market are now permanently closed. The restaurant was fantastic and truly a favorite of mine. The market was also excellent, although it wasn't the quickest place for an in-and-out visit due to traffic, parking, and a very slow checkout process. Nevertheless, it was occasionally worth the effort to grab some focaccia, arancini, mortadella, and salami. Many people will surely miss it!
This place is absolutely amazing! Walking in i knew i was in for a treat. The place looks very nice and the service is very good. I ordered the cold meatball sandwich that the guy attending me recommended and let me tell you this is the best sandwich I've ever had! I highly recommend this place!!!!

This used to be a restaurant. It has been changed into a wonderful carry out business.The owner, Gaetano is a brilliant chef who makes delicious sausages, pasta, pizza and a ridiculously delicious doughnut among many other authentic Italian delights. You will not be disappointed here
I'm so impressed by the pivot from restaurant to artisan market. Breads, meals, condiments, sauces, pastas, pastries, and more made in a real, local, kitchen and not some questionable factory hundreds of miles away. I love this place.
We met friends and sat outside. Had an eggplant parm sandwich that was big enough for 2 or for a second meal. It was so delicious! We filled a bag with more good food to bring home. Love this place!
The food was delicious and truly authentic, perfectly complemented by the restaurant's decor. It offered a peaceful retreat, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Gaetano's is always amazing. The servers are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and Mr. Gaetano is truly a wonderful person.
This is my favorite restaurant of all time. The food is incredible, and the service is outstanding.
