I love my local cafes and I like the fact that Gail's opens earlier than others on Sundays. However, I’ve been 3 times in the recent past and on no occasion were they able to serve me a plain croissant. They don't even suggest they've sold out, more that it’s a strange request. For a place that commendably bakes on site, there is no excuse for not having the most regular item imaginable to have with your coffee. To make things worse, on the most recent occasion my wife ordered me a ham and cheese croissant as a substitute; it was a warm unappealing mess that seemed to have the weight of a house brick. The coffees and teas are fine, but even then the drinks are plonked on the table, not serve...
