The Alm Paradise Gaistal is in Leutasch and is surrounded by the Wetterstein Mountains and the Mieminger Mountains. It is a beautiful untouched nature with breathtaking mountains, meadows and lakes. Within the Gaistal are several huts where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery while enjoying a drink or a delicious lunch but as well stay overnight. There are numerous hiking, bike and E-bike routes that include wide gravel paths to narrow steep mountain trails. It is even possible to ride/walk from Leutasch to Lermoos/Ehrwald.

As all the 'alms ' and 'huts ' around Leutasch, this one offers perfect views on the mountains and lovely smiling service, by lovely ladies in leather pants. The menu is limited but very well prepared. Usual schnitzels, wursts etc... But you will be particularly happy to sit on the sunny terrasse as the way to the restaurant is long, even if easy. In the winter, you won 't get sun on your way nor on the terrasse before 11 am and not after 4 pm.

Having heard good things about their pastries, we headed up here to try the apfelstrudel and enjoy the views. Gaistalalm is quite low down and in a valley so relatively easy to get to (about an hour walk from Salzbach car park/bus stop) but you're looking up at the mountains rather than over them. The strudel did live up to expectations and the staff were very welcoming. Good value too.

Like all pastures, it offers a limited menu of food and drinks, but in a fantastic environment in Gaistal. The homemade cakes were very delicious. The staff was pleasant and helpful. A great stop for hikers and cyclists alike.
