Galway Arms Bistro, Keilor

This pub has some really interesting period features that make it feel like stepping back in time. It's much larger than expected, with different areas like bars, a bistro, a spacious reception, and a play area. There are plenty of nooks to explore, including displays of historical clothing, old tools, and horse decorations. The service in the bistro was efficient and the food we had was well-prepared and good value for money. The fish in the fish and chips was barramundi, beautifully cooked with a light, crispy batter and a generous portion. The buffalo wings with blue cheese dipping sauce were flavorful and satisfying. Overall, it was a great experience that we will definitely repeat.

The atmosphere was great the staff where friendly and the beer was cold. The food really let the place down. I had the fisherman's basket, it was very disappointing. Oil soaked fish and chips substitute product for the calamari and scallops and dry prawns. For the price I expected food that I could eat. Half of the meal was left on the plate. Who ever came up with this experience needs to think again about if they really want people to come back. I am definitely not.

the first time to have a meal here will certainly not be the last time. all 21 of us enjoyed our meal, steak was tender, calamari tender, fall the bone ribs with straight kick to the bbq sauce, the list could go further. the personal was pleasant and efficient, without waiting for the meal of a person, all were rolled out after the other. interesting place with lots of history, very enjoyed, certainly recommend for a beautiful bistro meal.

Met up with a friend for drinks and dinner. I ordered the chicken breast parma and it was perfect - still juicy and tender with a delicious smoky flavor in the sauce. The cheese was just right, and the chips were hot and fresh. The side salad was crisp and well seasoned. The Mountain Goat beer on tap was cold and refreshing, and the table service was excellent. Service good. Place is good with plenty of parking. Need more GF options eg risotto, gf pasta, gf bruschetta, potatoes as served with the barramundi to be able to be served with steak, ribs etc as a gf option. 7/100 people have coeliac and more people gluten intolerant. Its not a choice like vegan/vegetarian. Update with the times.

Wow! We absolutely loved this restaurant for the first time. I ordered the grilled salmon and my partner had the medium rare steak. The red wine was outstanding. We usually don't have dessert, but we couldn't resist trying it this time!

The food service could be better there were four of us seated and only one of us received the order within 10 minutes the rest had to wait another 20min we should be all eating together not just watch one bloke eat.

Really nice place with history. Was the first hotel on the way to Bendigo gold fields. Bring your appetite with you as the plates are huge. Food was delicious and staff friendly. #createwithlizzie Réservez une table maintenant

Food was really tasty and good portions, I found the bar staff and waiters had great customer service skills, cheerful, they had a great vibe, Made the experience better than just having a meal.

we went this time to the Mother's Day dinner, but every time we go to eat it is beautiful and the service is great!
