Garganta Del Cares

This is a rustic venue at the end of the beautiful Cares gorge in the Picos de Europa. I have been coming here for mountain walking expeditions for more than 30 years, and this bar/restaurant holds a very special place for me, as a haven from bad weather and an oasis for exhausted and hungry walkers on sweltering hot days. Food is basic and hearty, incredibly cheap, and very filling. But if you've been walking down from the high peaks for 6 hours, there's nothing better. I love it here, please don't change :

Todo excelente, atención y precios. Realmente acogedor que el servicio es maravilloso y las habitaciones son bastante confortables,no se pueden llamar lujosas pero sin duda son limpias, cómodas y amplias. Tiene hermosas vistas y el desayuno incluido es fenomenal.

We had terrific cafe cortado on several occasions, and even a Sidra without all the fuss (pour it yourself! . Friendly staff, cheap prices, especially given the location, the nearest place to the head of the Garganta de Cares trail.

Quartos sem grandes mordomias , mas tudo funcional e com aquilo que é necessário. A localização é soberba. E tenho que elogiar o anfitrião... uma simpatia e disponibilidade excepcional. Muito obrigado.

After a long walk at the Ruta del Cares we were happy to see this restaurant for a nice cool drink and a bite, to recover. Friendly staff, swift service.
