There are restaurants very close to each other in this alley in Spittelberg. This gasthaus seemed the most sympathetic in the row and we were not disappointed. It was warm enough to sit outside. It was friendly priced and since I already had so...much meat for lunch I chose a more vegetarian plate. I had asparagus cordon bleu, which means it was rolled in ham and cheese and fried with batter. Not bad. It did become cold, but with Schnaps and the blankets for the customers , we remained cosy and comfortable. Certainly worth while to come back.
I don't need a lot of words to describe this Lokal! They have simply the best traditional Austrian dishes, such as Rostbraten and Wiener Schnitzel! Their side salads are so yummie, I just can't believe it. In Neuberg (the area where Spittelberg is located), you can have nice lunches and dinners for less money (In the Altstadt, everything is rather expensive). Bravo for the friendly staff and good value meals, I will definately be back when visiting Vienna!
Das Essen war super, das Personal sehr aufmerksam und nicht aufdringlich. Tische waren sehr schön gedeckt. Hier gibt es nur eine kleine Auswahl aber diese ist sehr lecker. Und die Preise sind wirklich günstig für Wien!

This small restaurant was close to our hotel. Ate here twice once outside, once inside both very pleasant. Good choice of Viennese food, well cooked. Enjoyed the beer and local wine.
We were not too impressed. The food was just okay, with enormous portions and average taste. The waiters were very nice as well as the atmosphere, but we would not return.
Delicious traditional Austrian food. Very attentive service and outstanding overall dining experience.
Sehr gutes Bärlauch Cordonbleu. Auch die Erdbeerknödel waren sehr gut. Wir kommen wieder!
