Lunch with friends on Tuesday proved to be a bit difficult to plan, not every inn is open all day. We like the city of Tulln, it has stone memories of Roman days, a lot of Middle Ages Caracter, somehow of elements of NIBELATIONS legend, birthplace of this wild man, painter Egon Schiele, three is a small museum dedicated to his life and works of art. Old fashioned Gasthaus with traditional well presented food. The special touches are evident every where. Starting with the menus which are handwritten in calligraphy and explicit as to ingredients and technique. One of my favourite dish in Austria is Tafelspitz whose main ingredient is boiled beef. A little bit off the center of Tulln you will find this hidden gem. At noon locals come there to grab their lunches it´s very good and inexpensive. You get a soup of the day and different seasonal dishes. For dinner you can also eat a`la carte and drink a fine glass of wine especially recommended during summer when you can sit outside in the cozy garden. There are also options for vegetarians.
Bei den Baumgartlingers bekommt man eines der besten Schnitzel in Österreich! Spaß bei Seite! Neben dem wirklich hervorragendem Schnitzel auch sehr empfehlenswerte Tagesteller zu einem sehr passenden Preis! Auch den Rest der Karte kann man ohne Bedenken bestellen! Bedienung sehr aufmerksam und nett!

Das "Schiffchen" ist mein Lieblingsrestaurant in Tulln. Dezente Athmosphäre, aufmerksame höfliche Bedienung, Speisen mit einem gewissen Pfiff. Man merkt die Liebe, mit der gekocht wird. Außerdem gibt es schnell verfügbare Tagesteller, manchmal mit sensationell guten Suppen. Sehr empfehlenswert.
Gepflegtes Gasthaus. Der Gastraum könnte besser beheizt werden. Der bestellte Fisch gut und appetitlich angerichtet. Der Tafelspitz leider zäh und wenig Geschmack. Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und freundlich.
Business group without booking were accommodated with grace. Good local food. Vienerschnitsel the size of your plate! Very traditional! Good beer and pleasant atmosphere.
We came over this inn for dinner and were not disposed of. Fabulous food, beautifully presented with very pleasant service.
