Small, quiet and friendly, I stayed in Hallstatt for 4 days and even though the place is beautiful the restaurants were at best mediocre.......my last night here we were looking for somewhere to have a lovely meal to celebrate my partners birthday. Well this is...what I was looking for.....it's not fine dining it's not even that special but the place is spot on. The owner is a really friendly (English speaking) man and the cosy comfortable atmosphere is what I was looking for......it's pizza or pasta type of place but don't let that put you off. Set in a back street alleyway it's off the beaten path and just what we needed to unwind from a day taking in the sights. Wish we'd found this place...

The most horrible food ever tasted, I ate half of fork and it was utmost disgusting. Cold dish, and sauce tasted like eating socks, the salad was awful as well, I had to spit it. We paid and didn’t eat anything of course. The owner...was so rude that made us feel unwelcome. Horrible food and rude service, better not to visit this place at all, except if standards are really really low. The owner seemed that he is very used of people leaving without eating. Of course we didn’t complain at all as he was totally mad.

We recently stayed in the small town of Hallstatt, this was on a Sunday night and the torn was very quiet, it was up an alley where the mountain river water flowed, it is so off the beaten track but so worth it, the owner...serves you and is very friendly, the food was superb and I think is more frequented by locals than tourists, very reasonably priced. I would recommend this spot and definitely worth a visit
Absolutely all (except beer) meals was from the nearest Spar or even Hofer! Pizza with poor defrosted seafood was awful, and dough was also not tasty. Soup was just instant powder. We payed circa 95 euros for a group of 7 and it was really...disgusting. I understand in Hallstatt you can offer poor food and people eat it anyway, but this was too much! Never ever.
Restaurant smells of cigarettes, we came about 16:00 and they didnt had opened kitchen. We were just three people and we ordered two beers, after then the owner very unpolitely kicked us without saying anything inteligent, without reason. He just shouted IM NOT STUPID THREE...PEOPLE TWO BEER!! It was ridiculous. I dont recommend this terrible place.
Hallstatt is a beautiful place to do both, hiking relaxing. I stayed in this hostel/pension and it was a good experience. The woman in the kitchen is very mean, but no big deal. The owner is a nice man and the place has a...good location services. I would stay again.

On the positive side, this restaurant was open when most of the others were closed. Also, the service was friendly and helpful. The pizzas however were okay at best. Would not recommend for pizza. Maybe their other dishes are better.
If you don't like smoking, it is not a good chosen in winter… Smoking allowed place. Friendly staff…
