HORRIBLE service. I really hate giving 1 star reviews. This restaurant had mediocre food which would have probably resulted in 3 stars. However, the service was SO SLOW...we waited forever to get the waiter's attention (no host to greet us), then it took forever to place an order. The wait continued as we twiddled our thumbs longing for dinner, meanwhile the kids were getting quite restless. Eventually the food arrived, and as I said it was mediocre. THEN the REAL WAIT began as we tried to get our bill and pay. This process took 45 minutes no kidding. At some point during this time the rest of my family left to wait in the car. A must visit if you are in Salzburg. The food at the restaurant is the best we have had so far having traveled to Munich, Salzburg (of coz), 2other parts of Austria and Berlin now. It's head chef is a world renowned chef and both him anr Martina, his wife are wonderful hosts. All the staff working in the restaurant and guesthouse are friendly and helpful. There's a bus station 15 min by foot and we recommend that you download the local transport app to find out the bus timings and you could easily use Google to navigate your way, walking to the guesthouse /restaurant. Can't review the inn, as we came here for dinner, and while we had to spend 20 euros both ways to get there from the Alstatdt area where our hotel was, this place was a treat! The food was delicious! Classic Austrian and Bavarian specialities. We had a meat soup, a fish tartare, and some sort of meat and potato dish. All very good, homey, and well seasoned. We also had the vegan 3 course menu(14euros! which was a great find and very delicious all around. My wife and I lived in Germany for many years but had moved away. We had a chance to visit Austria and were dying to taste some local cuisine since we missed German-style food so much. This place was out of the way but so worth it! Beautiful building and very friendly service. The food quality and menu diversity were excellent. Great beer election as well. We definitely hit the jackpot with this restaurant. I would highly recommend it! I imagine this restaurant was in a beautiful setting out in the woods but we got there on a very dark night and couldn't see a thing. Now we have an excuse to go back some time!

This place is fantastic! We stayed here and ate here both were wonderful experiences. Family run and laid back! When we went to eat they had been slammed with a tour bus and still had our food out in a timely manner. The room was beautiful as was the view. Both nights they happened to have music (traditional Austrian music) which was fun to see. It did not break the bank and we enjoyed it!!
We haven't been to Nattererboden for over 20 years, and we were positively surprised. The location is wonderful, a bit a car/foot, but rewarding. The restaurant is nice and cozy, in tyrolean style and old features. The staff is friendly, make yourself welcome and easy to go. The whole food was very delicious and of excellent local quality, we loved it. Very recommended!
Perfect, delicious food prepared with soul and warm feelings by chief (actually he is the owner of this place). Huge choice of wines about 200 variants. Kind hearted and welcoming personnel. Perfect choice for gourmans! If arrive during the daytime, you can adore communication with wide range of animals. Majestic place.
Great atmosphere and cool location. I felt like we were driving into a forest and then we come across this cool looking lodge/restaurant with lots of activity. It was a party in the woods. The food was delicious and the waiter was very personable and funny.

Chose here as it had good reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Not your usual restaurant but a fluent English speaking waitress/bar manager clearly explained all the gluten-free options. Food was lovely too.
