The farmer ́l is an excursion restaurant located in the village of Pötzscha, directly on the Elbe. It houses not only a rustic restaurant, with terrace to the Elbe, but also a small guest house with very comfortable and cozy rooms. The farmer ́l was rebuilt and lovingly furnished only in 2002 after the flood that had done its rest according to the old design plans. The dining room is large and open. This is a separate space, which is used for events and for closed societies. Furthermore, there is a playroom for the little ones if for them the waiting time for the food or the return home becomes too long. We were there to celebrate New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, the music was only aimed at older visitors and the food was too little. It was offered buffet but for example the fruit was not filled up so that you had to fight for a small piece of melon very slanted, especially if you also paid a lot of money for a card... The services were not often there, so many were without drink. Shortly after 12:00 we drove home. I had imagined a New Year's party. A light look was the fireworks that was lit right in front of the restaurant, that was really great! We have made a chance to give the house a chance, maybe that was just a conditional situation.
This is small gem. I wasn 't sure we 're the road would lead us but very glad to have come all the way down the hill to this place. The food was reasonably priced (46€ for two main dish, two dessert, one large beer, lemon bitter and mineral water). The food was delicious. I had the wiener art with the succulent mushroom sauce, and some ice cream for dessert which is quite large and soooo good. The patio offer an amazing view and the service was very good.
We spent our holiday in the "Bauernhäusl town of Wehlen /Pötzscha in July 2021. We are completely satisfied, beautiful, large, clean rooms. Good beds. Nice and helpful staff. Very good Saxon cuisine are fed. Breakfast was very good despite the corona restrictions, there was everything the heart desires. You have a magnificent view of the Elbe. Very nicely located on the Elbe guest house with cozy rooms. The always very friendly staff, including their boss, fulfill every personal desire immediately. Gastronomy is excellent and the value for money is correct. We recommend this pension to anyone who wants to experience nature and Saxon Switzerland. We like to come back. Dieter and Ingrid

If you are hungry and want local food; this is the Place! Good, well cocked food. Great service. The price is not the lowest, but is well compensated by the size of the portions :
Just had a very good schnitzel and a well deserved refreshing beer here after the first etappe of the Malerweg. Staff is friendly and the terrace is cozy.

We ate here several times. The food and service are very good. as well as a good selection of beers there is also a selection of excellent local wines
