We didn't sleep at the Alpenblick. I immediately felt at home in the restaurant. The wooden interior is just beautiful, really homely. The tables are elegantly set. The various salads are very fresh and there is plenty of dressing. The selection of game dishes on offer in autumn is good. I chose a wild boar caree with spaetzli, red cabbage and chanterelle sauce. That was good. I would have liked to have had more Schwümmlis. The lasagna with wild sausage mince, which I've never had before, was ok, very mozzarella-heavy for my taste, the Belchamel was missing the final kick. The check in was terrible because the waiter didn't know where to take me and no one else from the staff was there. The check out was extremely accommodating with a sensational breakfast. Fantastic view. However, I was locked in with my dog overnight, stupid when the dog has to go out. The room was homey and comfortable.
It was good, but not very good this time. The jambalaya dish wasn't seasoned properly, there was something missing, it was just spicy. The chestnuts on the game dishes were still hard and the Brussels sprouts were too soft. It's a shame this time it just wasn't the same. The peppermint and black tea had no taste.
Absolutely great view of the mountains (Bernese alps etc. . The plaice can be easily reached by car, but even better/nicer with a short walk from the villages around. The food is good with its touch of landscape/out of town center taste. Réservez une table maintenant
