Das Zimmer wurde von mir vorab via E Mail gebucht.Es kam auch eine freundlich geschriebene Reservierungs Bestätigung zurück. Also ich nach einem langen Wander) Tag war mit einem Bekannten auf dem grünen Band unterwegs) ziemlich erschöpft am Hotel angekommen bin,lief es dann folgendermaßen ab: Zunächst meldete ich mich an der Klingel an.Kurze Zeit später kam dann wohl der Inhaber mit dem Auto angefahren und hat uns in die Rezeption mitgenommen.Es folgte die Frage wie ich denn Reserviert hätte und ein Telefonat welches Zimmer er denn nun vergeben sollte. Auf meine Frage nach etwas zu Trinken ich war ziemlich dehydriert da mir schon einige Zeit davor meine Wasservorrat im Trinkbeutel des Rucksa...
We wanted to spend a weekend in Neuhaus-Schierschnitz and have booked the Hotel Kastanienhof for this reason. At the first moment I was shocked because cleanliness in the entrance area is not very high. But in the room it was clean, which I was very surprised about. The next morning we were breakfasts. The breakfast buffet came very empty but it was delicious. Next to our table there was a chest of drawers on the wall, which was very dollly dusted in. We paid 75,00 € for one night incl. breakfast. Unfortunately we had to leave earlier than planned by a very strong illness in the family. We asked if it was possible to cancel the second night, only the lady at the reception said she was watchi...

For overnight stay ok if you don't get the room opposite the kitchen. From 04.00, this serves as a common kitchen for the permanent guests. Staff very friendly and breakfast completely o.k. Unfortunately no restaurant nearby so from to Sonneberg. Recommendation.

Hotel room not clean: liquor bottles behind the bed, hair on the duvet cover, generally living ambience. Not all lamps functional. Mattress covered. House extremely bright, one heard the snoring of the neighbor. Breakfast buffet not filled, overwhelmed service.
The hotel is clean and it is very nicely furnished. The employees are very nice and you can see that they like to do their work. Despite corona there was a wide selection of breakfast.
Etwas renovierungsbedürftig und die Zimmer sehr hellhörig. Dafür Frühstück top.
