Restaurant is located by the main square of the town, so easy to find. Have been there twice and following our experience I certainly recommed to go for their seasonal offers they tend to have. It´s traditional austrian restaurant so I really don´t undestand the complaining people ordering cevapcici in such place which mainly offers local carinthian meals. They seem to use ingredients (vegetables, meat) of the local farmer so it´s another thing to appreciate. I really enjoyed their dumplings and asparagus. Atmosphere is alright, place seems to attract older people, I guess we were both times the youngest ones around. Maybe they can appreciate traditional food better than the younger generati...
we stayed here for 2 days in a duplex room. it was quite simple, no unnecessary luxury (not even a glass for a drink! but it is clean, comfortable and super friendly. it is located directly in the old city wall so well. parking is...if your luck, on the road outside (free them for a long time or a short walk away. the restaurant is usually hosted, and the breakfast is all taken on their table and represents a super mix of broth, fruit, juice, iron etc. the only part is the road outside. it's in the main street. if they are used to be a little traffic noise it will not disturb if they are in the middle of nowhere the cars can interfere from about 0600 up. it's not bad, it must be aware.
it was a little embarrassing to choose a place to lunch, because the three restaurants we had experience with were closed one due to a corona break and the second was above the hill, probably a corona pandemic sacrifice. but reliable prunner, located opposite the...Heritage city wall, was open to the business. fortunately, a table was free in the small outside seat; the first thing that the waitress demanded on our vaccination certificate against corona in Austria was mandatory in Austria. what can I say about the reliable prunner: good Austrian food, cold beer, friendly service and cheap prices. and not to forget to recommend the ambiente of the historic center of gmünd.
Abbiamo iniziato con la Frittatensuppe, frittatina tagliata a listarelle in brodo di carne, buona, per proseguire con dei bei piatti abbondanti, un Herrengulasch composto da gulasch con uovo fritto, wurstel e patate bollite e un Bauernschmaus composto da un wusterl, una fetta di arrosto in sugo e una fetta di prosciutto accompagnata da un gnocco di pane e patate in insalata. Veloci nel servire il primo, un pò meno per il secondo, ma considerata l'elaborazione del piatto è comprensibile. Qualità sufficiente. Rapporto qualità/prezzo buona. Si paga in contanti.

Il gestore non è parso dispiaciuto della nostra visita alle 15.30. Dopo averci fatto accomodare ciò spiega in tedesco-inglese che la cucina in orari 14.30 - 18.00 propone solo un numero limitato di piatti. Non ci scoraggiamo cercavamo frankfurter e wiener schnitzel e siamo stati felici di trovarli nel menu ridotto.I piatti vengono preparati al momento: sentiamo battete la cotoletta.Il whustel è buono e la carne tenera.Le patate morbide e gustose.Ottimo pranzo veloce.Caffè e grappa sotto i 30€ x 2 persone.Peccato non averlo potuto provare la cucina completa.
In Gmünd einen vernüftigen Mittagstisch zu finden ist bereits eine kleine Herausforderung, doch was ich dort aufgetischt bekommen habe, entzog sich absolut meiner Verständnis. Schweinsbraten komplett labrig, Sauce aus Wasser und Pulver, Servicepersonal das sich mehr nach der Rente sehnt als den Gast zu bedienen. Nein Danke!! Nie wieder!!!!P.S. Mehr möchte ich nicht schreiben
Cenato in questa gasthof con 2 zuppe, 2 piatti e gelato al prezzo di 43 euro. Abbiamo preso una specie di wiener schnitzel di pollo ( tenerissimo) e un piatto tipico con arrosto, una specie di prosciutto cotto caldo affumicato e wusterl il tutto con abbondante contorno come di consueto in Austria. Davvero buoni
Na ruim 35 jaar weer eens wezen eten bij Gasthof Prunner in Gmünd Karinthië.Vroeger veel gegeten bij Prunner tijdens onze jaarlijkse vakanties. Het was er nog steeds ouderwets gezellig met een prima bediening en een goede keuken. Degelijk en lekker!!!!

Freundlicher Service. Essen war eher unterdurchschnittlich. Cevapcici sahen aus wie Frikadellen. Essen schmeckte wie aufgewärmte Tiefkühlkost. Ambiente ganz ok. Daher 2 Punkte
We had a meal with the family after a long day. To be fair it is a good gasthof with nice friendly staff and good quality food for a reasonable price. Well done!!!!
