This restaurant with its Biergarten is very convenient if you're in Haar. The Biergarten itself is not remarkable, relatively small compared to ones in Munich, with a small children's playground that has a sandpile and a few toys. The food, though, is inexpensive and quite good. I've had roast chicken, haxen (pigs knuckle), and a type of bratwurst with sauerkraut and fried potatoes and all have been very tasty and very reasonably priced. The better pricing may be attributed to the fact that Haar is near Munich but outside the Munich city limits.Service can be spotty. I've experienced waitresses that are enthusiastic and friendly, and make dining very pleasant, and also ones who seem to be having a bad day and would much rather be somewhere else. That attitude can really kill the dining atmosphere. If you go mainly for the food and pricing, you'll be delighted. Absolutely no criticism there.

Only some kilometres from Munich you can find a very typical Bavarian Gartenwirtschaft (= garden pub/restaurant): Freshly drafted beers in big pints, typical Bavarian food like excellent Weißwürste (white sausages), Schweinshaxn (juicy porc shanks), delicious Marillenknödel (apricot or plum dumplings) and many more. All on above average quality level. Locals go here, few tourists only. All on unbeatable price-/performance level. Part of the authenticity is the tweedy service staff - typical Bavarians. We love this!

My husband and I went to this Bavarian restaurant with our friend who lives in Haar. For many years our friend has eaten at this restaurant for special occasions. The atmosphere is friendly. There is a special table reserved for local older men to gather for a drink. My husband had the platter with five kinds of sausage, our friend had a different sausage dish, and I had roast pork. Everything was delicious.

We had a nice dinner here after touring Munich for the day , its right near the Haar train station. Prices are moderate, nice sized out door beer garden, our waitress spoke English and was helpful in explaining menu items - we had pork chops and pork roast both were very good
