We have been on holiday in Talloires for a few days and visited a number of restaurants in the village. We decided to book this restaurant as it had good reviews and we wanted to go somewhere special for our 40th wedding anniversary. We knew it was one of the more expensive restaurants and we were looking forward to a special experience. However on the night the service level was poor, the staff inattentive although the restaurant wasn’t overly busy. When we asked for the wine waiter for more wine and he didn’t arrive until after our main course , this was the last straw of basic errors in customer service which is not acceptable. When asked if we wanted dessert we said no but asked for the manager. We explained our dissatisfaction to him and he agreed with our comments that the service wasn’t good enough and he would not charge. We have given the 3 stars as they recognized they didn’t meet the expectations of their restaurant however the food was good. It’s a shame the lack of service spoilt our very special occasion and though not charged it is no compensation for something that can’t be repeated.
Very well located restaurant with a lovely view of the lake The staff was overall very good especially our waitress from Picardie ; They gave us a nice table outside as promised with a great view on the lake We enjoyed the dishes especially the veal and razor clams tartare, the crayfish, and you should make the most of the cheese platter which is very good. The dessert (chocolate praline with raspberry sorbet was very good as well. The canette with artichokes was good and the trout was ok. Only dark point was the fact that the service was a bit slow at the end. We also had cocktails at the bar and they were really good.
We have stayed at your hotel on a few occasions and each time it has been s magical experience!! Every time we ate in your beautiful restaurant we were always very impressed by the level of service and exquisite food ! On one stay we had s lovely evening listening to a Jazz trio that were sited on a floating pontoon in front of the hotel on the lake!! We look forward to returning in the summer!!
My husband and I dined here for our last meal while visiting France and it was the perfect way to end our journey. We will never forget the surprising senses from the citrus cream sauce poured over fois gras and how the brasses chicken dissolved in our mouths. The desserts and wine pairings were light and perfect to balance against the meals.
