"My family and I came across this restaurant by accident while driving back to Munich on the A8 after a day-long visit to Salzburg. The staff spoke no English, but was friendly and patient as we decided what to order. My wife got a healthy salad and soup, while the kids and I ordered standard German specials and main courses that were tasty and filling. Given the unplanned decision to find a restaurant, we felt fortunate to find the Dorfstüberl, with its low-key atmosphere, flock of local diners, and mix of comfort food and healthier options."

We stopped at this restaurant for dinner on our way from Salzburg to Hohenschwangau. Nice small restaurant on the main road just south of Rosenheim. The restaurant was empty except for a group of local folks sitting outside having beers. Perfect for our family dinner with my two granddaughters. The lady running the place was very nice and gracious. She understood that the girls were tired and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Food was great and service was better than expected. When my son in-law asked if he could purchase a couple of beer glasses, the lady came to the table with two litter beer glasses and gave them to him as a gift! Nice touch. On the way from Salzburg to Hohenschwangau we stopped for dinner in this restaurant. Nice little restaurant on the main street south of Rosenheim. Of course there are many traffic jams on the highway, so our Satnav gave us directions to a side route. Filled the gas tank at the Aral petrol station when we discovered this local restaurant on the opposite side of the road. The terrace is used for smoking, but decided to stay on the terrace anyway. It wasn't a problem because of a little breeze. The food, especially the curry, was delicious. The Cola with beer comb was also new, but delicious. We thought that German cosiness was gone, but it rediscovered in this restaurant. On the way back we tried to stop here again, but unfortunately it was closed. We'll try the next time!
