BEWARE future guests!! It’s worth noting that both the cabins and the lodge back up to an incredibly LOUD and busy highway where heavy traffic is flying by at ALL hours of the day and night. It provides anything but a peaceful, tranquil backdrop that Gateway Lodge is falsely advertising as a serene, magical getaway in the woods. While there’s no denying the beauty of the forest, the constant traffic noise from semi trucks flying by unfortunately took away from our PA wilds retreat. Had I known this, we NEVER would have stayed at Gateway Lodge. Food at the lodge was mediocre and overpriced. Cottage feel and smell in a positive way, the heat much with fireplaces so that smell lingers even in summer- I loved it. No TV in some rooms, if needed you need to ask. Wifi for overnight guests. Lovely breakfast basket that you choose from two mains and you got a mason jelly jar with cover of OJ, a piece of fruit(orange) and pastry/sweet that you could take outside to picnic table or we just ate it in our room. Coffee and tea in room, just need to ask if you need it replenished. Breakfast was delightful. Found our room over diningroom to be noisy until diners left then very quiet. Bathroom was fresh and shower with rainfall head tall enough for 6’ plus person. Narrow stairs to our room but...

Beautiful setting, unfortunately service was horrible, room was freezing cold in August, restaurant was very limited and somethings on the limited menu were not available. Bar was not a full bar which is ok if you can BYOB, so after having a great day enjoying the area hiking and exploring could not have a nice dinner and cocktail.Waited for over 10min on phone trying to connect to front desk. Oh but Yes the Wild Crafters Kitchen..sustainably sourced is Right on..The German Raw Apple Cake ...tasted like the earth....Dirt ! Get A New Cook ! Harvest Cheese Board wasn't evalible...couldn't put some cheese on a board?!? The outside steps to the second floor railing was covered in bird poo...Clea...

What a fantastic place! We stayed in a luxury cabin for 4 nights and loved every single moment at this location. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy. We simply loved it!

Lovely place to spend a night or two. Owners and staff are super welcoming, warm, and friendly. Very cozy atmosphere.
