A few friends and I stopped in after hiking at the state park nearby for some lunch, and I think we made a great choice! This is a no-frills, laid-back diner (so don't expect anything super fancy or cushy) that concentrates its efforts on their food. The crab dip we ordered came with the perfect amount of soft pretzel bread and some saltine crackers, and their cheesesteaks were huge and delicious (both pictured)! Coming from the city, you definitely get a lot more food for what you pay, and everything we tried was well worth it. The staff and other patrons were all very friendly and gave great recommendations. Will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area!
I had a pretty unsettling experience at this place—a guy actually threatened to kill me! It was really scary, and I ended up leaving in a hurry. On top of that, the food was also disappointing. Did I mention that someone threatened my life? If you enjoy going to bars where you might find yourself in a dangerous situation, then this is the spot for you. But honestly, the food wasn't great either. I can't see myself returning.
I had a fantastic dining experience with delicious food at a very reasonable price. I visited for lunch and spent between $30 and $50 per person. The food was outstanding, earning a perfect rating of 5, and the service was equally impressive, also rated 5. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a rating of 4. I highly recommend trying the Pit Beef Sandwich!

This place is as charmingly local and down-to-earth as it gets. The food is both delicious and affordable, the beer is nice and cold, and while everything feels a bit sticky (but not really), that just adds to the character! We absolutely love visiting multiple times a week, especially for shrimp night on Thursdays!
Stopped in Gene's for lunch. Chili was great, the fries crispy and not greasy, great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Fair priced meal and draft beer. Repeat visits for sure!
Best burgers in Harford County. Service is great and the food is yummy. The place could use some fixed up but the food is worth the stop.
Terrible! The app wouldn't allow me to share my experience from Shrimp Night on Thursday or the leftovers I took home!
