Genesee Brew House has turned into a “must visit” while in the ROC. The history of the this building is really fascinating and the interactive museum on the first floor is quite the educational experience. Fun destination place. Great location right on the falls, pretty view of the city. Has a nice gift and merch store, plenty of cool items. Tasting space is great and even has a bit of history about the brewery there..I always take my out of town guests there and frequent it myself otherwise. Go here for the view. Beautiful and wholly unique view of Rochester's downtown, one of the major waterfalls, and the industrial aspects of the city. The beer is good, the food is quite average, so I recommend having a beer on the heated patio (in the really cold weather you may even be alone, which is kind of nice), and take in the view. At the end, go to to the roof and take in an even more impressive view. Great at night or in the day. Staff have always been kind, accommodating, and amiable.
Excellent bar food with a wonderful patio view of High Falls. A great place to take visiting family (as I did in this trip! or to casually grab a drink with a friend. The roof is bar only (no food and has the best views. This trip, I had the bangers and mash, which was a good choice on a cold day. I love Genesee! I am so proud that this brewery is in my hometown. Went yesterday for a growler fill and was greeted with such friendly service from everyone I spoke to. Definitely recommend the Grape and Orange Honey drinks, and taking a walk to see the falls! Update: went for lunch and was in love with the arancini will definitely be back very soon!
Gotta love the history of the place. Seasonal limited editions keep the beer list fresh, and the view in the summer is fantastic. Food is tasty and hearty.
Only negative: sandwiches were advertised with a side of 'Kettle chips '… what we got was less than appetizing potato chips.
Great food, pilot batches of new beers. Buffalo Chicken Pierogi is a must try.
