My friend surprised my wife and me when my mother flew in to visit for my birthday. We chose a healthier option for dinner and were impressed with the amazing quality of the sushi at this restaurant. The service was quick and efficient, with our food arriving promptly after we placed our order. I was quickly devouring my plate to make space for more dishes coming our way. The Ninja Roll and Black Dragon Roll were particularly delicious. There was another roll that I can't recall at the moment, but I'll update this review when I remember it. I might even include photos from my next visit, as I plan to come back again.
Another yummy sushi spot, it's probably closer to the lower cost point but the sauces for the rolls were pretty amazing. The ratios for fish and rice were spot on in the maki, sashimi is nicely sized and the interior has a very classy feel. Another Korean operated joint that is just excellent for the area. It was my brother in law's birthday and even tried sake. There is no specific kind, but it was warm, sweet and not too harsh on alcohol. It's a great spot for whenever we are in the area or on the way to the theater. Value is excellent!
The restaurant had a good atmosphere, but when we ordered sushi and maki for $39, the issue arose when they put a lot of wasabi inside without informing us beforehand. Normally, sushi should have optional wasabi, in case one prefers to add it. Unfortunately, the excessive spiciness caught me off guard, and I couldn't continue eating, so I politely mentioned the problem to one of the staff members after paying. Sadly, they ignored our concerns, making it a disappointing and unpleasant experience for me
A hidden gem! You would never expect the classy and high-quality food, decor, and service that Genji offers, if you had to guess from its outward appearance in a strip plaza. I was pleasantly surprised by its elegant interior, and the food and service were both excellent. Having been spoiled by Vancouver sushi, I rarely find anything in Ontario that I like as much as this. I'll definitely be coming again!
This sushi restaurant has been consistently delicious for over 15 years. While it may be a bit pricey, the quality of the food is superb and the service is attentive. I recommend trying their bulgogi dinner, japchae, and caterpillar roll. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate, making for a delicious dining experience.
