I'm a big fan of German food and this place exceeded my expectations. Some of the negative reviews seem to be from people who aren't familiar with the cuisine or with dining in a European restaurant. If you're looking for hearty, delicious, and authentic German food this restaurant is easily the best in town. The menu is large with many selections (including vegetarian selections! and the beer menu covers all of the bases. If you ordered correctly you probably won't have room for dessert but definitely get some to take home. We called in to place an order for carryout based on recommendations from close family members. What a treat! Authentic and genuine German cuisine prepared better than I've ever experienced previously. I was greeted at the door and I felt appreciated and welcomed by the staff and management (possibly the owners, I'm not certain as it was my first visit). My wife and I ordered two different meals and both of us found the dishes remarkable. There was more food than we could eat so we're both looking forward to lunch today! We will be back! I would rate this restaurant 6 stars if I could.
If you choose wisely, you might find yourself too full for dessert—but make sure to get some to take home! Everything on the menu is excellent, so I recommend ordering a few sides beyond your entrée; my favorites include the potato salad, dumplings, and red cabbage. Making a reservation at Jagerstube is nearly impossible. There's no voicemail, text, or email option available, and they seem to be closed half the time. I made 20 phone calls over an entire week and still couldn’t get through. I was hoping to enjoy some good German food with friends to celebrate my birthday, but had to scrap those plans! Authentically German atmosphere. Make sure to get there on time, showing up 5 minutes late for a reservation will get you dirty looks from both staff and patrons. Punctual, formal, with the iconic schadenfreude. Food was good the few times we’ve had it before, but that interaction really killed any desire to go back. Grace given could’ve been a bad day, it doesn’t discount it.
Outstanding German Dining Experience! This restaurant provides an incredible taste of Germany. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was genuinely authentic.
