The atmosphere was pleasant, with soft music and low chatter, and the food was enjoyable. However, the service and the quality of the food didn’t quite match the prices. We felt rushed during our meal; within just an hour, we had already finished two rounds of drinks, an appetizer, and our main courses. The staff even asked if we needed to take our meals to go just seven minutes after they were served, while we were clearly still eating. I understand the fine print of our reservation mentioned a 1.5-hour limit for the table, but since we had only been there for one hour, it seemed unnecessary to rush us to settle the bill. I’m uncertain if I’ll return.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary The Bistro, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious – each dish was a delightful blend of flavors. Our waiter was on top of everything, providing excellent service with a friendly touch. Even brought us ice cream to celebrate at the end. The Christmas decorations added a magical touch to the cozy ambiance, making our celebration even more special. We're already planning to come back in the future. Highly recommend for a perfect dining experience!
The bistro offers an exceptional culinary experience! My fiancée and I visited to celebrate our jubilee, and it was the best experience we've had. The food was outstanding, the drinks were fantastic, and their whispery wine is out of this world! The staff were some of the kindest people I've encountered, particularly our waitress, Jess, who went above and beyond to make our dinner special. My fiancée has dietary restrictions, and Jess was incredibly accommodating! I wish I could give them 30 stars!
Being our first experience at The Bistro we had an extremely wonderful experience. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the ricotta spread, the filet and the salmon rustico. Every dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor! Our waitress also surprised us with a small treat of ice cream for our birthday celebration making the visit even more special. Love the ambiance at The Bistro. Our server, Ashley, was excellent and very helpful. Food was excellent for the most part. Our adult daughter said it was on the short list of best meals ever (she got the walleye), and my husband raved about his as well (short ribs). The chicken on my salad was a bit overdone and burned, but everything else was fabulous.
Requested seating by the window or fireplace as we were first dinner seating. Taken to the basement without windows without a fireplace on our side. Told by 2 different employees that they had call-offs and low staffing. Spent $200 for 3 people, not impressed overall. Staff should be trained to not disclose staffing problems with customers.
Regarding the food and drink, we were surprised that on New Year's Eve, the bar did not have ingredients for us to enjoy a Sangria. We were also disappointed that the Three Meat Ragu Paccheri Pasta was served at the exact time as our Pizza and was cold and dried out. We would not choose to come again to Gervasi Bistro on a special holiday.
We had a wonderful dinner at the bistro once again. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was quick and friendly. Our appetizers—Perogies, meatballs, and mussels—were outstanding. The walleye dinner was average, but the pork chops were very good, and the seafood pasta was excellent. We will definitely return! Réservez une table maintenant
