the restaurant giardino is one of two restaurants in the hotel allegro. as the name already says, the restaurant is in a garden with ponds, coy carp and two escapes! the weather allows to offer a spacious outdoor terrace with spacious sun umbrellas diners shade. as part. This Italian restaurant also offers comfortable sofa chairs and low tables around the garden for a relaxed feeling. we found the service to these could sometimes be on the slow side. 12 of us have sung in giardino with two children (6 and 2). eating was fresh, tasteful and typical Italian. service was good, English menus are available for non-German speakers. we had to ask for kisses for our seats on the table on the terrace...
I was dining alone as I was travelling on business. I had just travelled from Germany by train and was dressed casually (as staying at the Hotel Allegro where the restaurant is situated). The waiter was aloof and unwelcoming as though I should not be...dining there. I ordered the antipasti plate which was good and the tomato soup which was unseasoned, lukewarm and lacked flavour, definitely not good.
