I'm new to the area, and have been making my rounds to all of the pizza establishments locally. Decided to try out Giovanni's during a weekday, around 1pm. When we arrived, there was no one there. We ordered some garlic knots and a pizza. Atmosphere was good, but the wait time I thought was too much. The garlic knots took approximately 25 min. Once they came out, we could tell they were fresh, and actually tasted great, but the wait time was confusing as we were the only ones there. The pizza came out about 10 min later. It was good pizza, I'll give them that. While there, the only waitress was nice, but I found it displeasing that she seemed to stay on her cell phone all the times me while...
The young lady working the bar and service tables was the sweetest. She was very caring, friendly and attentive. The kitchen seemed to be a little off at that time and she was working to keep it on track. Our food wasn't great. The calzone looked like stromboli (the young server tried to make it right), the stromboli was stuffed with cold almost frozen cheese that I am not sure what it was. The garlic knots were a bit disappointing. The portion sizes are huge we split the calzone and stromboli between 4 people. Parking is mostly street parking in the front. Prices were very fair.
I just want to let you know that the food there was phenomenal. Everything seem to be fresh and homemade like your in grandma's kitchen on Sunday afternoon and the short little Italian guy the cook fantastic he's funny knows how to treat his customers. I really thought he was the owner cause he cared so much. He makes the atmosphere warm and inviting. There were a few girls there to tall Italian girl but I'll give them there own reviews. So I will definitely be back and I hope to see the little ltalian guy he is out of this world. See you soon
We bought a steak and cheese pizza. Came to a little over $30. It had a very thin crust with very little cheese and steak and NO sauce! Was like a kids pizza. I added more cheese at home, which helped. But with little to no sauce, it didnt have much taste. We were checking it out as a. possibility for a wedding rehersal dinner, definitely wont be getting pizza from here after this disappointment. We live about 2 hours away and make the drive just to come here to Giovanna's. We absolutely loved the food. the service was great as well. We came tonight to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We had pizza, calzone, and lasagna. All were so delicious! Large portions! Loved our server. She was great. Very attentive and friendly. It's definitely worth the drive. We always come here when we are traveling through.
The pizza was great, and the cuban sandwich was good (the pork could be seasoned more). Aaliyah is an amazing server!! She kept going above and beyond to make our wait (we ordered to go) enjoyable. I wish more people in the restaurant industry would have her attitude and desire to make people happy. Will definitely return to this establishment.
