A small cafe on the busy Crown Street. The Green Juice was packed with flavours and I believe nutrients, with strong hints of ginger. My friend had the Breakfast Smoothie which tasted prodominantly of Banana and Stawberry. The Toasted Pumpkin Bread was full of flavour and seeds, with the sweetness balanced out with Cinnamon Butter and Lime Cream. The Soup of the Day was Roasted Cauliflower Soup with Dukkah, which was absolutely AMAZING! It was everything you would ever ask for in a bowl: creamy, salty, sweet, nutty, did I mention creamy?? Another item on the board we ordered was the Mushroom on Toast with Goats Curd and Poached Egg. It lacked a bit salted but was delicious regardless. They d...

Coffee, cozy window seat and nowhere to be is there anything better on a Sunday? Gnome feels like you've popped into your friend's Parisienne apartment a happy discovery while exploring Surry Hills on a perfect autumn morning. I arrived before the line up started, as the sidewalks start to fill up around 10am on the popular Crown Street cafe strip. I had a almond milk cappuccino with local honey and caught up with the print news world. They do a varied and interesting cafe menu featuring eggs, museli, dairy free smoothies and impressive looking pastries. Seating is ideal for a solo or couple date, any bigger and you'll be struggling to comfortably fit. Service is friendly and prompt, I appre...

A small corner cafè wine bar on Crown Street Surry Hills with indoor and outdoor seating. This rustic little cafe is associated with Brewtown Newtown, so you know they have decent coffee. The staff here are friendly and welcoming. This cafe is a great spot for taking in the action of Surry Hills. I visited this place for lunch. The menu is small with light breakfast and lunch options available at a decent price. I ordered the slow roasted lamb roll and a their cafè brewed Egyptian Rose iced tea. The lamb roll was nice enough and the iced tea was refreshing and sweet. I also had a coffee to go and it was as good as expected. It is worth a visit to this friendly little cafè to take in a bit of...

As a Surry Hills local, I popped in to Gnome this morning for a coffee.Given it's Surry Hills, I usually expect some level of fun loving sass but John who served me seemed to be in a particularly bad mood and ended up throwing my change across the counter towards me. Not in a fun loving manner at all. Further to this, I had ordered an iced long black. The coffee was weak and there was no ice. Safe to say I won't be returning.

Was in Surry Hills alone for brunch (please don't judge me), sat down for a couple of coffees and had a pastry. Within 20 minutes I was politely asked to move on as they needed the table. Understandable that they are a business, but knowing that didn't make my experience any less disappointing (and slightly humiliating).

The best flat white I ever had in Sydney. I know everyone has different taste in terms of coffee, but mine is satisfied with Gnome. I love their cronut as well, very sweet, but it is a good pairing with coffee. The staff is also very kind and friendly. Even though the space is small, it is the food that matters :

Feels like new owners and they've missed a trick since starting up. The last two times I've been the food has been way off what it used to deliver. The coffee is still awesome though. I used to give this place 5 stars, but not anymore... Réservez une table maintenant

I much prefer gnome to Brewtown. The same amazing cronuts, but better, fresher tasting brunch food. Extra points for being able to order wine and **** marys in the AM!
