We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at George’s, and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, the food was absolutely delicious, and the timing between courses was just right. For our appetizer, we enjoyed Oysters Rockefeller along with a glass of Luccio Moscato from California, which was perfect if you prefer sweeter wines over dry ones—it complemented our steaks beautifully. The service was flawless, and the coffee and carrot cake for dessert provided a delightful conclusion to our evening. I have eaten at George's many times over the years and my experiences over the holidays have prompted me to do a review. George's is one of the few fine dining restaurants in the Shoals and I always consider it a treat to dine at George's. The service, atmosphere and food are always up to a high standard! For appetizers, I would highly recommend the sauteed crab claws! They are buttery and delicious! I also love the seared Ahi Tuna and Greek Meatballs. I absolutely love their French onion soup and the Greek Salad (no anchovies for me. The food was served cold, and the waiter didn't keep our tea and water glasses filled. Although he mentioned he would bring bread, it never arrived at our table. A 20 percent tip was automatically included, but the service did not justify that amount. Overall, the service and food did not meet my expectations.
