Just had another great breakfast in the golden bell food is great the only problem today was the behaviour of a customer regular whilst waiting for our food to be cooked he went off on a rant about a member of your staff who he would like to take out outside and punch his lights out the language he used was not pleasant and I was disappointed that the two staff behind the bar didn’t pull him up on it but just laughed with him I don’t blame the landlord or lady lady as neither were present but maybe some training of staff would be helpful it soured the atmosphere in the pub and to say it in front of children his own I think is awful. We use to visit this pub regularly but we just havent had the time recently. As the menu had changed we thought we'd give it a go. The pub, as always, was busy but we were served quite quickly and the staff were friendly and polite. The menu is typical pub grub with burgers being a staple. There isnt a lot of choice for veggies/vegans and what there is, is quite carb heavy. My husband enjoyed his food but the chicken wings lacked flavour, which was a shame. However, we will return
The Golden Bell offers 2 Pub Classics meals for £10. Surely a meal for a fiver can’t be any good? Well let me tell you that it’s not just good, it’s very good indeed. We called in at Sunday lunchtime and had the large Yorkshire pudding filled with potatoes, veg, roast beef and served with a jug of gravy. Delicious! It’s like a Sunday roast for a fraction of the price elsewhere. Real ale is in good condition too. Friendly staff.
Popped in for some food, before meeting friends to go and watch football. The staff are fantastic and remember your drinks orders for next time you go to the bar. The food is locally sourced from the market and local butchers Stratons. The food os really good quality and amazing value. Will definitely be going again

Fantastic hospitality and great food. Suzanne made us feel so welcome. Fortunate to have the weather on our side as we had a late lunch on a gorgeous, flowered patio. Sorry we couldn't stay longer and enjoy live music in the evening. This pub is well worth a visit at anytime. A&K
Sunday lunch very well catered for especially as I’m a Vegetarian. My company had Pork was very good too all very tasty plentiful followed by excellent dessert good quantity. Definitely recommend this pub would definitely return with their friendly service.
What a great breakfast the Golden Bell do. Food was hot and very tasty, with a mug of hot tea included in the price. Best breakfast myself and my wife have had in very long time. 5* highly recommended

Town centre location, good range of beverages, outside area. Nicely decorated and near town centre shops.
Lovely staff, top notch breakfast- amazing sausages! Quick service and would highly recommend this place!
