Visited for a Father 's Day breakfast (lunch by the time food was served! It is somewhat understandable the staff underprepared for an influx of passers by on Father 's day, but should have articulated any delays to customers. Frustrating to see take away, sandwich only customers served the very items that should have been used for our 'sit down ' breakfasts order a long time before the 'walk up ' customers arrived. Commercially I understand they would likely lose the sale if they told a customer asking for a sausage sandwich they would have to wait 30 mins for same, but that is not the fault of customers who have been sat for 45 minutes waiting for what they ordered. We were on a canal boat holiday and this place was mentioned in our guide book. We moored nearby and called in for breakfast. It's a very cute little barge with seats inside the boat and outside too. The ladies serving and cooking the food were lovely, the portions were very large, and the food extremely tasty. We didn't any lunch that day. We took away 2 portions of homemade lemon cake to eat later on our boat. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Visiting the Gongoozlers Rest to sit down with old friend for a hot cup of coffee and a bacon sandwich, after travelling more than 20 miles only to find, no indoor seating available, only wet, damp seating outside! This is not what I envisaged meeting up with an old friend after a long time. There was no indication on their website that indoor seating was not available. Highly disappointed.

This charming spot is a great choice for lunch. Situated by the canal with picnic tables and chairs, the friendly staff served delicious bloomer bread toasties with potato slices. The freshly baked bread and butter pudding with clotted cream was a real treat. Highly recommended, and a pleasant stroll around the marina is the perfect way to end your meal. Fantastic experience and food. Friendly and enthusiastic staff, it was worth the 40 mile drive to go there. 3rd time we’ve been and does not disappoint. Food extremely well priced, not like some places that become well known and then increase prices exponentially, with big and tasty servings. Looking forward to going again soon.

I had a wonderful experience at this charming cafe! The toasties for lunch were delicious and I enjoyed sitting outside in their sunny garden, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. It's important to support independent places like this, and I will definitely be returning in the future!

I adore this restaurant - the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is so calming. We even spotted a robin and enjoyed the soothing sound of birds singing. Réservez une table maintenant
