I've visited the goody on a few occasions now, which each have been most enjoyable. The restaurant decor is casual, neat and spacious. Whilst the menu is extensive, the large variety of meals are consistently of high quality. Having visited, I would recommend greek salad with added haloumi and chicken. The chicken was crisp and tender, and the salad was fresh and well dressed. The pork belly roast, chicken parmigiana, burgers, and pizzas have also appeared to be well liked by my company. As dessert, we each enjoyed a chocolate sundae which was absolutely delicious the smooth vanilla ice cream, accompanied by crunchy peanuts and rich chocolate sauce was heavenly! Popped into 'The Goody ' for a quick lunch in the front bar based on the recommendation of a friend. <br/ <br/ First impressions were good, the dining area was well presented with various seating options, we choose the outdoor area. The staff were really nice, a real pleasure to deal with. It was cheap snitzel day so I had a chicken parmy and a garlic bread.<br/ <br/ The parmy was a good size, well presented and tasted good. The garlic bread was the surprise of the meal, it was a gorgeous little load of bread with four cuts (forgot to take s photo, sorry) with the garlic butter in the cuts. There were 15 of us for an end of year get together. We all agreed that the food was fantastic and the serves generous. I had the roast lamb that was served with beautiful roast vegetables. Unfortunately I was unable to finish my meal because the serve was so big. Given it was busy, the service was very good. The thing I liked about the Goody was that we ordered our drinks from the bar and ordered and paid for our food at the regester. This works out well especially with a large group. No splitting bills etc and who had what. We had an enjoyable night.
Poppy tried the Goody for the first time. And I have to say that for pub food it was fantastic. The beef schnitzel parmigiana was awesome and tasty with a nice side of steamed vegetables and Asian salad. The seafood basket was also delicious containing Pale Ale battered Flathead, skewered King Prawns and salt pepper squid on a bed of beer battered chips. Delightful! For pub food Poppy was very impressed. Great portion sizes and not overpriced for the area. If you're hankering for a pub meal check it out. Had a very delicious Chicken Korma Curry last night that is worthy of a mention. Normally pubs just can’t do curries of this calibre. This is one of the nicest curries I’ve eaten in a long time- thick, concentrated flavoursome sauce. Tender chicken thighs that melted when chomped on. Beautiful spices with nice accompaniments of fluffy Jasmin rice, mango chutney, naan and papadaams. Well done and thank you to The Goody on a feed I will remember for a long time. Tremendous value!
I think this place is brilliant, my cousin and I have been coming here for quiz nights on a Thursday night for a while. And tonight our team forgot to book. Anyways I appreciate the extra effort the staff went to, to put up an extra table for us. Also the food week in week out is awesome
Was there last night with friends for a meal before a show. All of us were very pleased with our meals, I don't have a big appetite and ordered the flathead fish burger which was a delight,wonderful flavours and texture. The staff were charming and very helpful. Would highly recommend
