Even though I typically avoid chain restaurants, I have to say that when it comes to Gordo, I can't resist. They serve some of the best Burritos and Tacos in town. The portions are generous and they often feature special taco options. The assembly line is quick so you won't be waiting long for your food. Seating may be limited, but you can always take a stroll down Solano Avenue and find a spot to sit. The protein choices are fantastic, with the Carnitas being a personal favorite. I highly recommend giving Gordo a try.
Consistency is key at this restaurant. I have been a customer since the early 90s and the food tastes just as good as I remember. The rice is amazing and reminds me of my grandma's cooking in Mexico. My family and I enjoy the pollo asado, chile relleno plato, and burrito. I appreciate that the food tastes homemade and is not made with instant ingredients. The carne asada could be improved and the chile verde is a bit salty, but overall, the food is great.
Their food is still some of the most delicious authentic Mexican food and has been for years. This place has been here since I was in elementary and I'm not 30+. And I could walk and grab my food and walk back without a problem. Great location in the neighborhood and great food.
For several years, the only burritos I eat here at Gordos Taqueria are their chile verde burritos. Never a complaint. And don't forget to ask for the green chile salsa to top off every bite on your burrito...Yum. Yum. YUM!

The CHEFS at Gordo Taquería are passionate about their craft. No one does it better as consistently. Gordo owners if you are reading this please open a new location in Elk Grove, CA. We will worship you lol
I have been enjoying these burritos weekly for 45 years. Although the prices are increasing, the meat is always fresh and doesn't spoil quickly. Try adding some lemon to your rice to enhance the flavor.
Gordo Taqueria gives you what they advertise. They fill all Burrito and Tacos with generosity. You're fast so you know what you want. Watching them, preparing the food is like watching the sunset.
Already knew this place would suck compared to the SF locations. No veggies like SF the Carnitas are old too salty. Still not BAD, but when you have something to compare to, it's a disappointment.
