Governors Pub & Eatery

We went to the Governors Pub and Eatery both nights we were in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The food options were great and the taste of the food was excellent. Our server was very friendly and we felt comfortable in the restaurant. Loved having the seafood options and dessert options were great too!

Server was awesome about double-checking things for us. Tried a local cider. Learned that just because Lea Perrin’s worcestershire sauce is GF in the US doesn’t mean it is in UK and Canada (but in time to change my order). Had nice scallops and new potatoes.

Very busy restaurant, but we found our way in and had a good dinner. I had the Seafood pasta which was good, and my husband loved the Crab boil! Our server was super attentive which was appreciated given how busy the place was!

There is 14 items that are gluten free on the menu : I got the creamy maple spinich salad and the mussels was amazing but I had a ibs attack afterward still adding to my food diary to figure out causes.

there is no gluten free menu or marked gluten free options but server provided options. Stuck to seafood and it was delicious. steamed local mussels for an app were great and Pan seared Haddock was good

Gluten free options Donair meat (not the pita) and lobster bisque are gluten free and delicious. I had my donair on a gluten free bun Staff and kitchen seemed knowledgeable Fries are not gluten free

We were there on a Friday evening so there was a lineup outside but the staff was very efficient in finding us a corner table on the rooftop patio. Had a donair meat sandwich and it was delicious

Server knew about Celiac and confirmed with the chef that the pan fried haddock could be made without the coating. The service was very good and so was my meal

the food was wonderful...the servers were great....the only drawback, it is not wheelchair friendly......
