Decent food but so expensive!Back when this place first opened, the sandwiches were decently priced. Roughly $6 for an Italian combo sandwich on a roll. Now, for that same sandwich, you’re looking at $9.95 tax. And on top of everything else, they charge a credit card surcharge! 3.5% ?.I think them being across from the high school made them see nothing but green, and now they’re trying to see how high they can push the prices before kids stop showing up.It’s a shame.Response from owner:I consider our deli one of the cheapest around the town. Never thought of stopping by or giving this place a try. This morning we went off our regular breakfast destinations and decided to order food from here. Omg!! Just about one of the best breakfasts we've had in HJ. My son's pancakes we just about the fluffiest most delicious pancakes I've eaten...and his bacon cooked crispy just as id asked. I ordered the hangover burrito on a spinach wrap and it was just fresh and so well seasoned. Everything we orderd tasted so much better than we had anticipated. The kids are off from school tomorrow and we'll probably come in person and enjoy! Keep the momentum going G and R!
Was driving by and was getting hungry for lunch. Did a quick yelp search and found this 4 star rated sandwich shop. Stopped in, the people were super friendly the place was very clean and inviting and the menu looked great. The chicken cutlet with bacon sandwich caught my eye. It was absolutely delicious! I planned to only eat half and save the other half to take home but it was so good I devoured the whole thing. Two thumbs up!!!
The staff here are incredibly kind. There was a time when I didn’t have enough change to buy a drink, and one of the employees told me to just pay what I had and not to worry about it. Everyone is truly genuine and friendly, so please show them the respect they deserve and be polite to the employees. Thank you, G R Deli Cafe, for consistently being so kind! I typically don’t leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience here. The food quality was disappointing, the sandwiches were quite small, and the prices were steep. I ended up paying $17 for a chicken wrap, which I thought was excessive. Be cautious with your wallet, as you might end up feeling overcharged.
