Arrived at the restaurant at 1:30pm, ordered the Express Menu du Jour and a carafe of wine. Waiter came back and informed us that they had run out of the starter but they could replace it with a plate of charcuterie, we said that would...be fine. He then came back and said they'd also run out of the main course and the dessert, but we could have a fish course and an apple pudding instead. We decided to go with this and changed the wine (which hadn't yet arrived) to white. 15 minutes later, we still hadn't been served any water or wine and were getting impatient. The wine finally arrived with the meal but we were 95% sure it had been watered down, as we saw the waiter leave the bar with a 3/4...
We used to love Libourne and it’s lively atmosphere but the City and indeed this Restaurant itself have fallen from grace spectacularly. Initially we were given a warm welcome and even re-seated inside due to the number of smokers outside but the food really did...not live up to even basic expectations. Tough steaks, cold chicken and the service went downhill with the waiter knocking things over on the table (a full bottle of water over my wife). Quite a few of the dishes we ordered weren’t available and the method of choosing your wine simply ‘strange’. Ce soir, j'ai dîné dans ce restaurant. J'ai mangé dehors, sous le pont en cette belle soirée chaleureuse à Libourne. Un endroit parfait avec la place François Mitterrand en arrière-plan et une fontaine d'eau. Le service était impeccable et amical de la part de notre serveuse. J'ai commandé du poisson et des frites qui étaient cuits exactement comme il faut. Malheureusement, le steak était trop cuit et plein de défauts, donc nous n'avons pas pu le manger. La serveuse, comprenant parfaitement la situation, a parlé au propriétaire qui ne nous a pas facturé le repas et nous a offert un autre repas. Une super ambiance et un personnel de service très attentif. Ça vaut le détour.
Family visit to this restaurant for lunch left us disappointed I’m afraid. I had the chicken from the daily menu which was covered in cornflakes that were all soft and the chicken inside totally dry. Obviously reheated but only to luke warm. Service was ok,...they tried but one of the guys who did speak English rather well needs some basic training on serving. He proceeded to knock a bottle of water over me and laughed saying “it’s refreshing”. Chocolate dessert was very good albeit expensive at 8 € for a mousse. Would not return. Toilets also need a serious overhaul. They should be embarrassed by them!

Lorsque nous sommes venus à Freedom, nous sommes allés déjeuner pour la première fois à la brasserie L'Orient. Nous étions assis à l'intérieur pour une journée très chaude, bien que nous ayons beaucoup d'ombres dehors, elles étaient toutes prises. Notre serveur était Hugo que je peux honnêtement dire... était l'employé le plus dur devrait être un bon à l'endroit. Nous avions pris le menu du jour à 20 €, l'économique en crème de poisson et frites avec ananas et sorbet d'ananas. Tout était très savoureux, surtout l'économique. Je recommande vivement.

Mauvaise nourriture avec un maître paresseux. Je viendrai ici !
Nous avons passé ici un très bon déjeuner dominical. La nourriture était excellente, bien préparée, joliment présentée et largement suffisante. Entrées melon et jambon pour tous. Brochettes de bœuf et truite en plat principal. Dessert ennemi de Dame Blanche. Le cadre est idéal pour regarder les gens et généralement... se détendre. Le personnel est très amical et serviable. Dans l'ensemble, un déjeuner agréable et apprécié de tous.
This bar/ restaurant has reopend after being one of the best known brasseries in Libourne. It is now very smart and rather upmarket, however it is very friendly and quite affordable. On Sundays there is a set menu which is outstanding value. Best of all is the extensive range of wines but without the usual abusive mark ups. This place is going to go up and up. Dont miss it.

We sat outside a waited for someone to bring us a menu, waiter's saw us but after 10 minutes nothing do we left and found a much better restaurant a few doors away. Never experienced anything like this before.
Nous n'avons pas dîné, mais pris des cocktails. Le mojito était très bon. L'endroit se trouve sur une grande place qui le rend accueillant. L'ambiance était également agréable. Le service aussi.
