"I wish there were even more good bakeries, so the big center could not charge so much for their food. $10 for a ham and cheese croissant is insulting. But everything is pretty good here, so it's what it is"

If you have ever bought bread in Europe, you know that it is very different from what we call bread in America. Grand Central is as close as Portland. The bread is hearty and rustic, with grape taste. The only thing I don't like is their 'gras mix' that adds unnecessary allergens to otherwise perfectly good bread. Luckily not all use their breads. I like the como and the peasant bread. You cut it for you or leave it entirely on your request.

Came in for sandwiches for lunch, we were told that the wait is about 25 minutes, which was accurate. While for some this might be fine, for me this provides either an exceptionally high expectation, or just frustration. Unfortunately it was just frustration. The turkey cranberry sandwich was flavorless, the bread was sad as it looks. The place delivered what it promised, but I won?t be back.

The Komobrot is easily the best bread ever invented. I make the trip to get it fresh from the bakery, although my local grocery store keeps it in the shelves. I usually get a delicious ham and cheese croissant. And a hammer. And cinnamon roll with icing. And an almond croissant. Everything's sooo good! I'm going this weekend!

Very good bakery. My favorites are the Baguettes and Ciabatta. Nice crispy, but chewing crust and a reasonably airy crumb. The Ciabatta seems to be interrupted at least in some shops, which would be a real loss because it was the best loaf in the house.
