We had ordered from this restaurant a dozen times and really enjoyed it. However, a few weeks ago, my boyfriend placed an order through DoorDash, received confirmation, and the app indicated that it was in progress. Then, Grazie Grazie directed us to their own separate delivery tracking service. Unfortunately, the food (which included 8 sandwiches, not a cheap order) never arrived, and the restaurant closed for the night. I arrived here after a long day of exploring DC, and it was just what I needed! The location is near the Pier and lively, but not too crowded. The rest of my group was still exploring or waiting for potstickers when I managed to convince them to join me by showing them the menu. I ordered the Lil C's salad, and it was fantastic! When it comes to bar seating a win is a win! Especially, when you don?t have to wait for table seating to open up. However, because Grazie Nonna is so brand-spankin' new to the DMV I did my fair share of waiting the night I decided to dine in with them don?t regret the wait either! Be mindful. I was just passing by from NJ, visiting friends, some work, and some other things with my brother. We ordered the Philly Special and the Minelli. Both were 100% on point, with such rich flavors that we had a enjoyable experience. The Philly Special can be a bit heavy, so a happy life for me would be able to have that sandwich spread out to every 3 weeks and the Minelli, was an experience I wouldn?t replace ? would be a good 1x/week sandwich for a happy life. This review is specifically for the vegetarian Poncho sandwich, which both my husband and I ordered. It was terrible very dry and flavorless. The “crispy eggplant” was tiny bits of over fried/burnt eggplant, there were about two peppers on the whole thing, a tiny dab of ricotta, and sliced mozzarella that tasted like it was from the dollar store. My husband almost never dislikes food and he couldn’t stand it.
Josue was phenomenal! He was SO friendly and efficient. He was helping multiple groups of people all at once, making everyone feel welcome. The kitchen team did great as well! We got our food quickly and it tasted amazing! To top it all off, the prices are very good for the quality and quantity. I highly recommend this place.
Incredible sandwich! It reminds me of the Taylor Gourmet days with flavor combinations you wouldn't expect, all made with fresh ingredients and fantastic bread. It was a HUGE sandwich! I ordered the Retzo, which had chicken, prosciutto, hot honey, ricotta, and more. I would definitely come back!
This sandwich shop at the Wharf is fantastic! They use quality ingredients and offer a great variety on the menu. However, the standout feature is the original seeded roll, which is simply perfect.
