An update on my previous review: There is now one vegan dessert available on the menu—the chocolate and raspberry torte—and it is quite delicious. It's a great start, but I hope to see more options in the future. There were two vegan main dishes to choose from, and I decided to try the mushroom pie, which was also really tasty. Unfortunately, the dessert menu was quite disappointing. The only two options were sorbet (which is overly predictable and rather boring) and the torte. I was really looking forward to the torte, but I was informed that it wasn't part of the two-course deal, even though it was priced the same as the other desserts included in the deal. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The main dish we ordered, the "Screaming Halloumi," was delicious, and the appetizers were also good, with nearly all being suitable for vegetarians and clearly labeled, which was excellent. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the main courses, as there were very few vegetarian options available, which was the only drawback of our visit. I’ve been here many times before and I’ve always had lovely food. This was my birthday treat, so I was looking forward to it. However sadly, this time, the service food was not up to its usual standard. We were greeted by a rather unfriendly sullen waitress and led to our pre booked table. I ordered Hunters chicken. The chicken breast was minuscule and overcooked and the chips were scarce. My daughter’s food (fish and chips) was better huge fish , chips not great. We then ordered desserts , 35 minutes later they still hadn’t arrived. I asked the waiter and 10 minutes later the desserts arrived. the personal was very pleasant and helpful, the main meal (screamed halloumi, which we had both was very tasty (sweet were also good and almost all were suitable for vegetarian and marked accordingly excellent . the same could not be said for the main courses where the number of suitable vegetarian meal was very limited and was the only real after part of our visit. the guests were good throughout the restaurant (social distancing.) I am not sure which purpose it is to pump music into the parking lot, but is different from sound pollution? the background music in the restaurant was merciful quiet (if unnecessary).
I visited on a Friday evening for a society's end-of-year dinner, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. The staff were extremely accommodating, making all the necessary adjustments to meet our needs. The food was not only delicious but also served in generous portions and at a very reasonable price. The venue is stunning, especially with the garden in full bloom on a spring evening. Overall, for an occasion like this, it was a fantastic experience with great people and high-quality food, all at a good value. We will definitely be considering this place for future events!
The ambiance is lovely. We enjoyed our main courses; the mushroom pie was delicious, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. I also had a small dessert accompanied by a hot drink, which was delightful. The restaurant is impeccably clean, and the staff were both welcoming and efficient. I used some clubcard vouchers, which gave me a nice discount on the bill. Overall, it was a fantastic visit with my daughter.
I took mum and dance (both have several impediments) for lunch on Monday, eating was a good quality and a good price. the personal was great, nathan, rob and kelly took care of us, nothing was for many problems. we have decided to make it a regular thing as they enjoyed it so much. the place was clean and well furnished. definitiw recommend to all.
Fantastic service, beautiful venue, and the food was delicious. Me and my wife shared the chicken and ham hock pie with mash and the steak and ale pie with chips. The pies were incredible. We then finished our meal with the salted caramel sundae which again was delicious. I would highly recommend eating here!
