I hope they can make a comeback soon. You should expect to pay 16.00-23.00 per person. They have not updated their prices on the website. I know times are hard for restaurant owners, but I feel the price increase is too big. The service was excellent at the table. In the register we were not informed about the available senior discount. The server told us after we paid. I have the feeling that the quality of food has fallen. I hate that I have to make this review with negative comments because this was a good place for a great meal at a reasonable price earlier. I can't imagine a family coming here. They have also limited desert options. We said the ice machine was broken. I was sad because...
I've been eating there for years and it was great. I think it could be under new management. First I understand the need for gloves while at the bar due to health concerns. I was charged for two buffets and a drink and water. I didn't know until I left that these things weren't broken. I like to know what I'm paying for. Lunch was just going, so it wasn't so crowded. Eating was decent and it seemed like some of the day before. This has been bad for quality control. Fresh food is required for a buffet. 20 years of experience I could add. I'm probably not going back because of the experience. I will leave it to the locals to further promote the business.
Good quality for a buffet. I've been here 3 times now and it is very consistent. The fried chicken is especially good when a fresh batch comes out. The salad bar is kept fresh, the whole place is very clean, and they give everyone a glove to use when serving themselves from the buffet. There is a big variety of deserts, and the overall menu rotates to help keep it interesting. The food is all Southern inspired, and thankfully is not severely over-salted. It all seems like in house recipes, not reheated frozen food. If you are in a buffet mood and are tired of Chinese, this is a great option.
Ummmm. Yes, please. Real deal roasted tomatoes with the dough texture perfectly. How Mama does it. Not only do they have real deal country cooking, but they also play old school music. The food is like you're going to a family drug. Everyone makes his favorite dish. Some use Dukes and others..... Some things you think your mom makes better, but Aunt Carolyn is better than frozen food every day or KFC. You'll find something you love and want seconds. Old South recipe cold salads. To the person, that did not like the Green Tomato Buffet. You're telling a blatant lie when you say there wasn't a selection. Why tell this lie when you know it's not the truth?? I've been to the Green Tomato Buffet on several ocassions, and felt that it is a nice, reasonably priced restaurant, with good home cooked food. That's a big compliment coming from a black woman who is a great cook herself. You're right you need to take your business elsewhere!
Absolutely delicious buffet full of southern staples. Everything was fresh and delicious when I visited and the staff was unparalleled. Everyone was very attentive, polite, and extremely friendly. They had vinegar and many other condiments available on request, and proactively checked in to see if any of them were needed.
