A cutie restored old house with witch themed decorations, located in a small village between Bellinzona and Lake Maggiore. The place was full of people (good sign and the flat screen was on with the news. Seems that this is a favorite place to eat and watch sport matches. We had fresh (fresh! salad with some shrimps, good to start, red ravioli which was cooked with butter and sage leaves and sliced veal with mayonnaise tuna sauce. The food tasted quite good, only thing I got puzzled were those (Valentine?! raviolis because those ones are sold by a famous discount retailer... anyway, a good peoples' place to lunch or dine (if not having particular gastronomic demandings away the larger town c...

The Grotto La Strega is a hidden gem! The owner Katja is a passionate cook. Her menu is small and fresh, the wines a good variety. Every dish we tasted was delicious. We love the Cognillio, the Gulasch, the Osombuco, the starter with cheese and meat cuts and her desserts. And it’s so cozy that we enjoyed romantic couple dinners and birthdays with friends here. If you are nearby treat yourself good and enjoy Katjas cooking skills.

The house is an old stonehouse and really nice. We went there for lunch. It was pretty full so there remained only tables inside. The daily special gnocchi with tomato sauce was ok, though I missed the homemade touch. The worst thing was the lady running around, throwing dishes on tables and being so busy that there was no smile, no welcoming gesture, nothing. I wouldn't go back.

Take Away Menü wurde uns bei der Ankunft vorgestellt. Wir haben uns für den Kalbsbraten mit Polenta und Canelloni mit Ricotta Spinat entschieden. Nach vereinbarten 30 Minuten konnten wir das Essen mitnehmen. Grosse Portion und super lecker.

wir haben abends zu viert exzellent gegessen. Katja schlägt ein paar Menüs vor, welche nach Wunsch angepasst werden. Preis/Leistung ist absolut top, zu diesen Preisen essen ist rar. Kleines Restaurant, reservieren notwendig
