This place is awesome. An old fashioned Grandma's home styled setting. So much down home style atmosphere. The people are so friendly and helpful. While I was outside taking pictures of the establishment, The older gentleman who made my sandwich actually came outside and handed me my order. I call the real personal service. I knew about this place for over 40 years, but never visited it until today 10/08/23. The security bars on the windows threw me off. It's a Gem in disguise. I wish I would have visited this place over 40 years ago.
I've been living in Lemon Grove for nearly two years and have passed by this place many times, but today I finally decided to stop in! I'm so glad I did. It's a small spot, but the service is fantastic, the menu is diverse, and the subs are HUGE! I ordered the smoked chicken cheesesteak with bacon, and it was delicious—delightfully messy in the best way! The guy taking orders has a great sense of humor, while the lady in the back is all business. I’ll definitely be coming back, and you should check this place out too! It's on the way!

I absolutely love Grove Grinder! The family who runs this restaurant has exceptional customer service skills; they are always friendly, courteous, and attentive. The establishment is clean, and you definitely get your money’s worth with their delicious sandwiches. I’ve been back several times and I don’t think I’ll be going to any other sandwich place. Highly recommended!
I finally made it to the area and had this place on my must-try list. Wow! It has that classic mom-and-pop sandwich shop vibe that you crave. I ordered the half Godfather, and it was the most loaded and delicious sandwich I've ever had in the San Diego area—no contest. Their selection of root beer is also top-notch. You absolutely have to give this place a try!
This place is unbelievable that I just discovered this place, but in San Diego since I was a child I can?t believe I didn't know it before. The selection is great the soda is fun. I love the rye bread. Two full meals in every sandwich and I'm a big guy. A must try.
