There's something about Jamaican food that speaks comfort to me. I've already tried oxtails from other places in Jamaica Queens and wanted to grab lunch somewhere closer to the train station this time. G's was a cozy, no frills, mom and pop's type of restaurant that reminded me a lot of Southern comfort food restaurants. We got the medium sized oxtail lunch it's only available in M or L which was 18 each before tax. The price is in the same price range as their other competitors but this place gave me more oxtail. The portion size was satisfying and the oxtails were packed with flavor. My only complaint is they forgot to trim off some of the excess fat so you got too much of the fat layer ov...
The food at this restaurant is consistently tasty. There may be a wait sometimes, as the cashier also helps with food preparation and during those times no one else can handle the checkout. However, my recent experience ordering the veggie chunks was disappointing. They were overly salty and lacked flavor. I believe Miss G's can improve on this dish. Additionally, I was not provided with a fork. This was unusual as I usually enjoy ordering from here.
First time trying this place out and I have to say that I really enjoy the drink but it was a bit too sweet. The sugar should be reduce since the pineapple is already sweet. I Will definitely order from here again. I also tried the curry goat and I really enjoyed it. 08/10/2023- $8 is too much for a small curry chicken with rice and peas. It’s just best to buy the large for $12. Small should be $6.
Met up with a friend here because we needed a central point to eat. Turned it to be a ok choice. Ordered a Jerk Chicken meal and an Oxtail meal. Both meals came with rice and peas, and fried plantains. The jerk sauce was ok but the cook of the chicken wasn't done well. The Oxtail was cooked good but the sauce too sweet. Overall it was just ok.

Visiting from San Diego. Stopped here for dinner. I had the Ox Tails, Rice n Beans, Cabbage with a Pineapple Ginger drink. This is truly down home to the bone cooking. If you pass this restaurant and wonder if they can cook. We’ll wonder no more. It’s the best!
The prices are good and the portions are decently sized. The food itself can be a hit or miss. Some days the food is so good you just gobble it up. Tonight was definitely a miss; my stewed beef was dry, chewy, tasted old, and overall unpleasant.
You should definitely go, sis! You won't regret it. The Jamaican food is delicious and authentic, and the service is very friendly.
Got their home made in house beef patty was ok.and the pea rice wit curry goat which was good. Definitely worth a try!!!

This place on Sutphin serves delicious meals. Staff is warm and the natural juices are really good.
I really enjoy dining at Mr G's because the food is consistently excellent.
