A week golfing in Salzburg region we stay in this small hotel. Their restaurant deserves a special evaluation.Restaurant is not big; especially the outside space is very nice. Wooden tables with comfortable benches are situated in a very nice garden with patulous chestnut trees, summerhouse covered by ivy. Joung and helpful staff wear usually traditional costume, they are very popular. It is nice and charming. Owners of this nice hotel come to greet their guests daily. Restaurant was full every afternoon and evening, majority of guests were groups of locals, joung, older, families. It is usually good sign of quality. Kids can use spacious part of garden with climbing frames. Hotel with his r...

We wound up at the Gschirwirt by default. It was Sunday night and this was the only restaurant we could find. There were no individual tables available so we shared a larger common table. The menu was about what you would expect for a large Gasthaus. I had the Steirer Backhendlsa entree and my wife the small Wienerschnitzel. Both were large and of good quality. We shared a beer and a large bottle of mineral water. The total bill came to 25,80€. Service was rushed, but efficient. The atmosphere typical for this type restaurant. We can recommend it for every-day eating.

My wife chose the salmon trout and the desert plaque. The service was attentive, the appropriate wines perfectly suited. Everything was boiled to the point, the beef medium rarely as it should be. I also enjoyed the wort of some dishes, the menu shows with Curries and Thai dishes that they can handle it. The highlights are the deserts a little on the big side, so share it. For two people, including several wines on the glass, we went with a culinary investment of 85 euros. It was absolutely worth it.

The menu was a special Christmas menu. Many of our party of 7 had the Weinerschnitzel which we all rated as very good. We had the special Christmas beer by Steigel which we also enjoyed. The main draw back was the language barrier. One of the members of the party spoke some German, but the staff was reluctant to speak any English. Recommend taking a good translation tool with you

We visited as Leeds were playing a pre season football match at the nearby stadium. The people are really friendly and the service excellent, and genuinely warm. Great beer sat outside and the local food was perfect.

As usual, Gschirnwirt never disappoints. Friendly staff, management comes to the table to see how everything is. Very recommend to visit their salad bar and wash it with their Cordon Bleu.

Not a fancy place but the quality is great. The salad with prawns a great option, as the cordon blue Home made apffel strudel was superb. Great value for money!
