I highly recommend the Gu Ramen, which can be customized with your choice of spice level, noodles, and toppings. The combination of Tonkotsu broth, pork, chicken, and Chashu was incredibly satisfying. I also loved the addition of spinach for some extra veggies. Had one of the worst customer service experiences ever. My wife, son and I got to the restaurant a little before 7:00 and he was very hungry(we drove 30 minutes for Ramen). There were 12 customers in the restaurant and 20 open seats. The 3 employees refused to serve us at the table for 6 just in case a larger party comes in. Having managed restaurants for over 20 years, I thought they must be joking. How could they seriously refuse to serve a hungry, paying family in case a better table came in? At this restaurant, Udon Tofu is the sole vegan ramen choice, offered in three levels of spiciness. Additionally, there are a couple of vegan 'tapas' options available. I tried the medium spiciness level and found it to be quite enjoyable. It was a bit odd, however, to have loud country and western music playing on the large TVs behind the bar.
After our day at the beach, we decided to check out a nearby Ramen restaurant. Hi Ramen exceeded our expectations! Despite being busy with only two staff members, we were seated promptly and our food arrived quickly. We ordered four different types of ramen and they were all delicious. I highly recommend trying GU Ramen in Laguna Beach!

There are only two menu options available, and both dishes are a bit too salty for my taste. However, the options include fried rice with vegetables and tofu, as well as udon noodles with corn and spinach toppings. Overall, it was an okay dining experience.
I go to this place all the time w my bf and we have never tasted a better vegan ramen!!! I remember the first time i asked for no egg in my fried rice the server was rlly confused but besides that the service is amazing: love this place
I flew all the way from Arizona just to dine here, and it was well worth it! This restaurant serves the best udon I've ever had. Kay, the owner, is incredibly friendly and attentive.
We had a great time at dinner. The restaurant is small, so expect a wait. The menu clearly described the various broths. We even had enough to bring some home for lunch tomorrow!
