My husband had been looking forward to trying this pizza for the past couple of weeks. We're from out of town, visiting my parents, and knew we had to fit it in. We came on a Friday night, next to last chance to try it before we leave Sunday morning. We arrived at 530 and were told a 45 minute wait. We debated but really was wanted to try the pizza so we stayed. It only took 30 minutes. The wait list was backing up with regulars, so we knew that was a good sign, being so popular. Our server, Tilly, let us know right away that if we wanted a pizza, there would be an hour wait. She wanted to get it in asap so we wouldn't have to wait any longer than necessary to get it. We could've left then, since we really just came for the pizza, but we stayed. We ordered some garlic bread and sides of pasta for the wait, since we were super hungry at this point. They were busy, so the garlic bread and pasta took a bit to come out but it was great when it did. My husband prefers a thicker, crustier garlic bread but I loved the softness with the crispy edges. It didn't stop him from eating most of it anyway. There were chunks of fresh garlic on top, which was great. The pasta was al dente, and the sauce was really good. It definitely hit the spot. I'm glad we ordered pasta and garlic bread, because our pizza was going to be even longer. (We later learned OUR pizza was given to someone else and they had to make a new one. Tilly offered a salad and soup while we waited, and was very apologetic. The salad was everything I didn't know I was gracing crisp, fresh, and flavorful. I loved it. My husband got the chicken soup and liked it a lot. He said the flavors were great. When our pizza did come, it was AMAZING at first and worth the wait. The crust was crispy and thin. The sauce was good, and the cheese was bubbly and brown. However, we had ordered half cheese and half pepperoni...and there was hidden pepperoni on my half. I haven't eaten meat in about 30 years, so it wasn't a great surprise. My husband's half had obvious pepperoni. My half seemed like cheese, but there was pepperoni all under the cheese. Tilly was very apologetic, offered to replace it, and more, but honestly, I was full by that point. I was able to try the outside edge piece that didn't have pepperoni, so I still got to try it for myself. My husband just had lots of leftovers, lol. The restaurant was nice, it was clean, the hostess and our server were both friendly and competent. Even with the wait, we would've given it 5 stars if it weren't for the pepperoni being on the whole pizza. We'll be back next time we're in town. It's a popular place, so we'll make reservations. And we'll just do 2 separate pizzas next time instead of a half and half.
