It was hard keeping myself to my rule of visiting an establishment 3 times before writing a review. I knew from my first step up the little curb from the right in front parking spot; being greeted enthusiastically by a outdoor dining customer; that Iwas going to like this place. Gulf Gate Food Beer: 06/08/2021 After a busy morning of Shopping the wife and I stumbled across this place, a hidden gem of sorts. Lindsey greeted us with a smile and had great suggestions for local Beers. I chose a Cigar City Brewing's Florida Man A Double IPA. We started out with an order of PBR Fried Pickles which had the perfect amount of flakey batter, which did not make it feel like I was eating a pickle sandwich. I’ve been in Sarasota for the past three weeks for work, and every time I travel, I search for a place just like this one – a cozy, almost dive-bar vibe with excellent food. Let me tell you, this place truly exceeded my expectations. Over the course of 12 nights, I visited five times! The boneless wings are absolutely amazing. I also tried nearly every burger on the menu during this time (except for the basic one), and all were delicious. My personal favorite was the "Down the Hatch" burger. Yesterday afternoon for a fast post-beach snack and was overwhelmed by how good the food was! We had fried pimples and they were super hot and crisp. We had a big garlic fries that were so good we almost ordered more, definitely our favorite of everything. We also got a double cheeseburger (low five), who was only an averageburger, but the other food was on it! Great service, the bartender served all the guests, but it was up there! This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is inviting and calming. Even though our waitress, Jay, had other tables to attend to, the service was outstanding. The bartender appeared to be quite busy, but we were impressed when our waitress went behind the bar to prepare our drinks so we wouldn't have to wait. We were absolutely thrilled! The recommendations we received were spot on. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning for the delicious Mexican streets of Mais, and hopefully with the same team! 10/10!
Fantastic spot! I was searching for a place to catch the Eagles and Phillies games while grabbing a bite. Since it was after 10 PM, my options were limited. Lucky for me, I stumbled upon Food and Beer, and I couldn't be happier. The place was busy, but Katelyn at the bar was attentive and professional. She took care of me right away, and my food arrived quickly. The burger was outstanding—cooked exactly as requested—and the fries were unforgettable. I'll definitely be returning. The prices are also quite reasonable.
The waitstaff were exceptional— friendly, engaging, and efficient. Despite being busy, they made us feel like we were the only customers there. Great place with a chill vibe! Food is always fresh and hot (or chilled) and served timely. Staff is fun and friendly, you can tell they are happy and enjoy working there. Rotating menu options keep menu fresh. Try new things, I haven't had anything I don't like so far. Beer options are great, and bar as well. Our bartender Lexi K was awesome. I got a sad phone call while there and she was so caring and sweet. Food and drinks were great too! Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. Thanks for the great food and for taking care of us! Can’t wait to come back and visit!
