Have visited this amazing restaurant on a few occasions now and can't say enough good about the whole experience!! My husband and I went there for the first time about 2 years ago, being from out of town we hadn't been able to return for nearly a year.. to our surprise the staff rembembered us and even remembered where we were seated. The previous reviews were spot on. We went here for the first time for a Saturday lunch and were amazed that this place was not busy. Tons of room between the tables so even if it was busy we would not have felt crushed. Service was amazing. Our favorite dish was the Cauliflower 65. I highly recommend it. We also had the Beef Korma and the Shrimp Butter and both were quite good. The lunch meals come with a small soup or salad and a naan bread. The soup had a nice kick to it and the naan bread was good. We both left feeling stuffed (and we had to pack up half of our food). The place is impeccably clean including the washrooms. We had an early supper here over this last weekend. The restaurant was very quiet and the service was impeccable and the food was amazing! We have eaten here many times, and the shrimp pakora remain our absolute favourite- crispy, perfectly tender shrimp, seasoned and spiced in balance. So good that we always say that the next time we come we are just going to order a few orders of the shrimp pakora - but there is so much more. Everything is good but the daal is elevated to a whole other level. And of course the naan bread is slightly charred crispy and chewy. The drinks are very good too - I had Pink City a slushy fruity treat on a hot day.
We have eaten at Guru a number of times since it opened and have enjoyed everyone of our visits. The selection of both meat and vegetarian foods is exceptional, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is very inviting. No matter your choice of meal, the spices and sauces are superb. The cocktail selections are varied and many are unique. We have recommended Guru to all of our family and friends.

My wife and I considered all of the places we might want to go for our anniversary and we keep returning to this restaurant. The foods are so flavourful, and the aromas are so amazing. We had the the palak paneer (amazing), chicken korma (pretty good), coconut rice and butter naan. We had the Vishal's poutine for an appetizer and it was so good. I also recommend the dirty chai martini.
Very friendly and well trained staff. Great quality of food. Unbelievably tasty and freshly made. Garlic and cheese bread beyond expectations. Well done interior of the restaurant. This is the best Indian restaurant which I have ever been. Highly appreciate for their service. I am from Texas and every time I visit Edmonton I go to this fabulous restaurant! The Chef and staff are so incredibly friendly! This time I brought my mom with me! They remembered who I was and let my mom and I help make some naan bread. I wasn't very good at it, but it was so much fun! I have eaten Indian food in 16 countries and this is still my favorite!
As I eat Indian on a regular basis I wasn't expecting something unusual. The restaurant has two outstanding appies: their cauliflower and Golga balls stuffed with chicken and sauce. The second was reminiscent of a street food from India. The main course items were also delicious. The waiter was very eager to explain and make recommendations on the menu.

This place beats all others in the city. I've never tasted a better butter chicken in my life! The chef definitely has taken Indian food to new heights. We recommend this place to everyone who visits Edmonton.
