The atmosphere is friendly, and the owner is truly wonderful. The seafood served here is some of the best and freshest you'll find. If you stop by Gus Market, you definitely won't regret it—you'll keep coming back for more! I highly recommend trying the in-house chicken salad; it's fantastic! They've really improved since previous reviews. I believe that sometimes things have to go wrong in order to learn and get better. Nothing is ever perfect. It's all about moving forward and making adjustments. In my opinion, your continued success speaks volumes. Great job!
Unpretentious family restaurant with hearty entrees including seafood. Both the casual patio and the old-school interior, seemingly unchanged since the restaurant?s 1931 opening ?except for the booths being replaced?, said Ernie, son of Gus himself), are wonderful spaces to share a meal in. Two members of the managing family kindly introduced themselves and made sure we had an enjoyable meal. The kaiser rolls, while bizzare outside of a delicatessen context, provide a warm and enjoyable start to the meal.
In the area for a family reunions spanning multiple Generations, my mother and I were driving up the coast in search of seafood. Having passed multiple Italian offerings everywhere along the journey, we stumbled into Gus's and had an amazing lunch of both steamed and grilled lobster. $19.95 for a full Lobster lunch and amazing service. Could not have asked for anything better. It's been there 85 years, and don't expect white linen tablecloths, but it's a local haunt with otherworldly food.
Very disappointed, went there with a friend for my birthday. First they gave as a kaiser roll that was hard as a rock , I had 2 lobster tails it was under cooked and slimie my friend's fish was over cooked. Bad service so expensive for big mistakes never go there again!

Very good seafood and steaks here. I really liked the bar area. It has a warm and welcoming feeling that you want to sit and enjoy the ambience. I visited a party and ate in one of the private rooms. The staff is super nice and offers great service.
I had lobster with my son, and it was excellent—sweet, tender, and succulent, paired with a wonderful side of mashed potatoes. The shellfish appetizers were also delicious and fresh. The staff was very attentive. I can't wait to return!

Gus is one of the best restaurants in the world. The food is excellent, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is amazing. Family-run establishments are often the best, and the Kneuer family truly excels in their work.
