Door County needs a good Italian restaurant, but Gusto is not the answer. Limited menu and what we ordered wasn’t good. Maybe we ordered wrong thing. Wine and beer only, which is ok but few Italian wines. Service was excellent, got our entrees before finished with starters. Won’t go back. Too bad we have been going to this restaurant for many years, but new owners make it less desirable. Hard to understand since they have great location and wonderful porch.
Our waiter was “Danny “ Poor kid totally fumbled through the process. Seemed he had very little training. Was confused from the start as to what we ordered. Ordered Risotto with beef tips. Both came without. Came out 20 minutes later. I had already eaten half the risotto. He apologized but made no offer to make up for the poor service. Joked about the bill being 12345! ?? $123.45. I left $0 for a tip.
Our waitress was okay, and the meal was just mediocre. We were quite disappointed with the long wait for the food; it seems the kitchen is probably understaffed. Additionally, we were let down that we couldn't order a cocktail. We won't be coming back, as there are many better dining options available.
Seated promptly. Efficient and friendly service. Great ambience with our table located next to the window offering a scenic view of the quaint little town. Wife and I both had the pastry-wrapped whitefish and it was very tasty. The pistachio cheesecake was out of this world. Réservez une table maintenant
The food was excellent. It took a bit longer for our meals to arrive than we expected. We were seated in the bar/kitchen area, which was noisier than we would have preferred. The service was very good, but it seemed like the staff was eager to turn over tables quickly.
The food was average. The service was abrupt. Not bad service just not welcoming. As soon as we sat down the server was asking for our order. No hello, no can I get you a drink. The food came quickly.
The ambiance on the porch was great. The mushroom risotto with beef tips and the salmon dinners were outstanding. Don’t forget to have the chocolate cake dessert delicious!
I forgot that I had reserved a table in the screened porch. We were seated at an interior table so we chose to eat at the bar. Food was good. Staff was friendly. Réservez une table maintenant
Some interesting food options. Calamari was perfectly cooked, as were the shrimp.
