The fried shrimp po-boy was amazing, the best I've had during my 5-day stay in the city. Even the small size was a generous portion. I arrived near closing time, along with what appeared to be a bachelor party of loud New York guys, and was worried there wouldn't be enough bread, but it all worked out smoothly. Marvin brought out our sandwiches, singing the Rocky theme since he knew we were from Philly. This place is not overrated or overpriced, just a great sandwich made by a friendly guy at a reasonable price. I highly recommend it!
The service at this restaurant was excellent and the food was fantastic! The blackened fish sandwich was delicious and perfectly seasoned. My wife loved the shrimp sandwich and thought it was just right with all the toppings. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The restaurant has limited hours but is definitely worth a visit. Overall, a great place for a po boy and I'm sure any sandwich you choose will be delicious.
guy’s poboys is my favorite Po’boys place in new orleans, since I discovered it when my sister just lived on the road around 1993! the owner, marvin, has always gracious and generously prepared the grilled shrimp pool with its homemade tartaric acid sauce for me, even before it ever appeared on the menu! all that there is is is delicious and that is worth waiting! a must visit in uptown.
