Gypsy Grill is a local gem in Jersey City. I get the chicken kabob sandwich which has plenty of freshly grilled chicken, salad and what I thought was a yogurt based sauce (it's actually mayonnaise as per the cook). Tastes great, great price and friendly service of a local business. The older guy at the register is very nice but he doesn't really know what's going in the food. I feel he just told me what I wanted to hear.
My wife and I had the chicken schwarma and the lamb/beef schwarma, it was so good and the portions were very big it was delicious! We also got to try the falafel which and the perfect crispy outside with a soft flavorful inside. I'm definitely getting falafel plate next time!
Gypsy has been a staple of Newark Ave for years and remains one of the best, quick and easy meals in the area. The chicken shawarma sandwich is high quality and consistently great. Don’t forget to get a side of fries, doma or anything else.
I came to this shop where I was interested for a long time because I wanted to eat meat. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly, so I definitely want to come back. The homemade Falafel was the most delicious I've ever eaten! Réservez une table maintenant
The food at this restaurant is wonderful! The servings are generous and the service is quick. The falafel is outstanding, with a great sesame texture, and the garlic sauce pairs perfectly with the chicken shawarma.
Very tasty, good service, and fast serving. They use the perfect amount of ingredients on their shawarma and they offer halal mediterranean food in a American environment.
On a Sunday night after traveling all day, our group stopped in for Gypsy Platters and pita sandwich. Everything was delicious, very flavorful. Definitely recommend.
